DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY THIS THANKSGIVING, GEORGIA!

Car accident increase around Thanksgiving time

Thanksgiving and the holidays are fast approaching. We at ATLWreckHelp would like to remind you to drive safely during this holiday season as well as in your daily life.

This time last year, there was an increase in drunk driving incidents. According to the Augusta Chronicle, 24 traffic fatalities happened in 2020, which was doubled from the previous year. We don’t want to sound like an alarmist, however, we do want you to be careful, as most holiday-related crashes are caused by drunk driving.

The penalty for driving while intoxicated (or drunk driving) in Georgia is stiff with jail time ranging from 10 days to 12 months, fines up to $1,000, penalties on your license and your car insurance may increase… and all of this is for a first-time offense! So, if you’re spending time with your friends and family, at best, please have a designated driver if you plan on drinking. Or crash on a sofa, bring an airbed along, or get a taxi home. Your future will thank you for it!

Enjoy yourself and most of all, come back home as you left it… in good spirits and safe.
